Salesforce QA, Salesforce Testers, Salesforce Engineers….

A Salesforce Engineer (or Salesforce QA) are typically either Salesforce.com Certified Administrators or Salesforce.com Certified developers.

They are required to have a good understanding of Software QA Testing methodologies, Testing Tools and QA/Test Approaches. Depending on the company that they are employed by, a Salesforce Engineer may also be required to configure applications and have in depth knowledge of Salesforce.com and Force.com

Other responsibilities and requirements could include:

  • Creating Test Cases and Test Scenarios.
  • Creating Test Data Sets.
  • Software Development / Lifecycle knowledge (e.g. Agile and SCRUM).
  • Project Management and Planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

A Salesforce QA may choose to back their experience and knowledge by obtaining the Salesforce Certified Administrator credential which is a Salesforce certification that has been designed for those who have experience as a Salesforce Administrator. Prior to taking the Salesforce Administrator Exam, candidates should possess broad knowledge of Salesforce applications, including experience configuring and managing Salesforce.
